The ARTS wrapping up the summer

The focus for programs these last few weeks of summer – yes, it flew by, didn’t it? – is ART! Check out the free events for children and something for mystery loving adults, too.

Tuesday, August 14th – Messy Art Day – Bring a painting shirt for creative fun! 1pm Ameliasburgh branch
Wed., the 15th  – Papermaking for school age children. Such fun to create your own paper! 1pm Picton branch
Thursday, the 16th  – Fancy Nancy Aspiring Artist Tea Party. Fancy frocks are encouraged! 1pm Milford branch
Also on the 16th  – Youth Mario Kart Tournament 5pm Picton branch. Come challenge your friends.
Saturday, Aug. 18th – Magic Show with Jean Deshaies at the Picton Town Hall at 11am – Note that this is a change of venue from the original printed schedule distributed in early summer.
Also on Saturday, the 18th – The Hunger Games movie. Be the first to see it with your friends when it comes out thei Saturday on DVD!   2pm at the Ameliasburgh Town Hall  
Tuesday, the 21st -  Encaustic painting with Susan Wallis at the Bloomfield Town Hall. This is by registration only, for children 10 years and up.  Contact Christine at crenaud@peclibary.org to reserve your space. 

Wednesday, Aug. 22nd – Pillowcase decorating. Bring a pillowcase and go home with a masterpiece to dream on!  1pm Consecon branch23rd – Celebrate Art Carnival. Fun, games and art! 1pm Wellington branch

And for the older crowd, on Thursday evening at 7pm at Books & Company, don’t miss the library fundraiser “A Tangled Web” – a panel discussion with mystery authors Ian Hamilton, Barbara Fradkin, Janet Kellough and Vicki Delany.  Tickets $5 at the store, library or at the door.

Alice’s Mad Hatter Tea Party Fun

Aug. 7th – Animal Tea Party! Bring a stuffed animal for a special tea with games and crafts. 1pm at the Bloomfield branch library
Aug. 7th – Racetracks Rule at the Milford branch library at 3pm. Come build your own gravity fed track for Hot Wheels cars.
Aug. 8th – Kristie’s Petting Zoo visits the Wellington branch library at 1pm. Come meet the critters!
Aug. 9th -  Caring for your cat! A furry friend will be attending 1pm Ameliasburgh branch library
Aug. 11th  – Youth drop in Collage making – 11am Picton branch library
